Start your day with a serious breakfast at Woodett’s Diner, 1492 Hwy 395 in Gardnerville. You’ll appreciate the full stomach as you start on your trip.

Head South on US Hwy 395 for .4 miles; on your left you will find Cheshire Antiques (1423 US Hwy 395, Gardnerville, 775-782-9117, 10am-5:30pm, Parking Hint: just before Cheshire Antiques, turn left on Eddy Street and park).  Voted best antique store in Carson Valley, Cheshire Antiques features the highest quality antiques at the most affordable prices available at any antique store in Nevada. Offering European antiques as well as a great selection of local treasures from this historic area.  If you are looking for something truly unique for your home, this is the place to shop!

Continue to head north 1 mile, turn left on Esmeralda Avenue.  In .1 miles on your left you will find Tumblewind Antiques (1600 Esmeralda Ave, Minden, 775-782-2444).  Serving Carson Valley for 35 years in historic downtown Minden, this quaint shop has over 4,000 square feet with 20+ dealers.  They carry an eclectic collection, including Heritage Lace linens, Western memorabilia, glassware, books, Native American items, furniture, gaming collectibles, toys and much more.  Experience Tumblewind Antique’s personal, friendly service while you browse through their store and relive wonderful memories.

Ready for a refreshment?  Lunch options include Minden Food Company (located across the street), or two blocks East on Esmeralda on your left is Francisco’s Restaurant offering daily specials as well as their main menu featuring authentic Mexican cuisine.

As you depart your lunch stop continue west on Esmeralda Avenue, turn right onto 5th Street and then an immediate turn left onto US Hwy 395.  In one mile turn left on SR-88.  During this next course of your journey you will experience rural Carson Valley with its historic ranches, barns, scenic beauty & wildlife. Proceed two miles and turn right onto SR-207 / Mottsville Lane.   You will head 3.3 miles on Mottsville Lane and turn right onto SR-206 / Foothill Road.  In 1.2 miles you will arrive at Laura Springs Ranch & Antiques (1456 Foothill Rd, Gardnerville, 775-782-2893).  Located on a historic Carson Valley ranch, their large barn is filled with a variety of antiques, collectibles, and country primitives.  Be sure to also visit the Doctor’s House (historic home of Dr. Eliza Cook).  Filled with antique furnishings, vintage clothing and accessories.  Laura Springs specializes in furniture and English glassware.

Continue North on SR-206 / Foothill Road for 4.2 miles.  On your left you will arrive at Dake House Antique Emporium (2242 Main St, Genoa, 775-782-4951).  Antiques Plus is located in the Dake House, one of Nevada's oldest Gothic Victorians. When walking through the doors you can expect to find fine Victorian antiques as well as pottery, glass, pickle castors, country chic, oak and walnut furniture, slot machines, and clocks, yard art, and wagons. The house has been decorated in the Victorian style, and has been preserved in much of its original condition. It is well worth continuing your drive into Genoa (approx. 4 blocks north). Stroll through Northern Nevada’s oldest settlement and visit Mormon Station State Historic Park, the Courthouse Museum in Genoa, Genoa Bar & Saloon (Nevada’s oldest bar), Genoa Trading Company, The Dancing Deer, Gilles Menagerie Boutique & much more!
