Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus presents Big Band to Broadway

Join the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus for an unforgettable evening celebrating the golden age of American music! Be transported from the swinging sounds of the Big Band era to the dazzling lights of Broadway, featuring beloved classics that defined American popular music.

Experience the sophisticated sounds of George Gershwin with “Strike Up The Band” and the timeless “Summertime,” alongside Cole Porter classics including “I’ve Got You Under My Skin.” Journey through Broadway’s greatest hits with selections from “Chicago” and “Phantom of the Opera,” plus a special tribute to the legendary Louis Armstrong. The program culminates with Duke Ellington’s jazz masterpieces and an Armed Forces Salute honoring our military heroes.

Talented musicians and vocalists will bring these iconic arrangements to life in a performance that spans generations of American musical excellence. Whether you’re a longtime fan of jazz standards or discovering these classics for the first time, this summer evening promises to be filled with toe-tapping rhythms, soaring melodies, and the timeless appeal of truly great American music.

The Carson Valley performance is on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 7:30pm at TJ’s Corral at the Carson Valley Inn & Casino in Minden.
