A new disc golf course has been installed through support from volunteers and donations in the community as an enhancement at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in the vacant unused portion behind the arena. Disc golf at this location will be a daytime activity. Smoking will be prohibited for all users.
The course was established in 2018. Pinenut course is in the foothills of the Pine Nuts Mountain range. Has Moderate elevation changes. Terrain is Juniper and Pinyon pines. Course provides fantastic views of the Eastern Sierras and the Carson Valley. Course has a good mix of technical and open tee shots. The course provides great hole variety, playing through trees as well as open areas. Moderately hilly and lightly wooded. Course has 18 holes/baskets.
October to early May is the best time to play the Pine Nuts, course is in great shape! All tee signs, next T arrows, and tee pads installed! Trail work in progress. Benches, bag hangars, map, and kiosk coming soon.
There is no water and no trash cans onsite, please pack it in and pack it out. Extreme fire hazard so NO SMOKING, thank you!
