Riding Your Bicycle Anywhere and Everywhere
Mixed Terrain, aka Gravel Riding, is all about ignoring the traditional distinction between road and dirt cycling. It’s about epic loops that take advantage of paved roads, unpaved roads, and trails. It’s about epic adventures and getting off the beaten path, about exploring and getting new perspectives, and about tackling new riding challenges and expanding your cycling skills.
The Carson Valley Adventure Ride Series provides amazing scenery, challenging terrain, and an epic adventure.
Each year’s ride series features a subset of these loops. The loops range in distance from 48 to 77 miles but what they lack in distance they make up for with climbing. Each loop also has one or two shorter options to choose from. You can register to ride just one event in the series or all of them. You can opt to ride in a competitive category and be eligible to podium for an individual event or for the whole series. Or you can opt to ride in a recreational category just to enjoy a great riding adventure. All routes feature fully stocked rest stops and a post-ride meal. All participants receive maps and can access a GPX file of their course.
Looking to preview the courses and do some training rides? We have more than a week’s worth of training ride options.
The Carson Valley Adventure Ride Series is a community project presented by the Alta Alpina Cycling Club and supported by Travel Nevada and The Carson Valley Visitors Authority.
