Movies in the Park

Town of Gardnerville’s Movies in the Park is back for 2024! Grab your favorite movie snacks and a blanket to lounge on and come out to Heritage Park at dusk for an evening of free family entertainment. From more contemporary hits to timeless classics, nothing brings a summer day to an end quite like a movie under the clear night sky.

This summer’s movie schedule is as follows:

June 14 – Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (2 hrs 15 min; rated PG)
July 19 – Super Mario Bros (1 hr 32 min; rated PG)
August 16 – Barbie (1 hr 54 min; rated PG-13)

Movies will begin at dusk (around 8:30pm, when the sun sets behind the mountains). For more information on each film that’s showing, visit the Town of Gardnerville’s website. You can also check their page on Facebook for updates.

If you’re interested, come early to Heritage Park and observe public art in progress as Main Street Gardnerville hosts Community Paint Night! This year, a street mural is being painted along Ezell Street next to the park. Over the course of the summer, you can watch this art as it comes together, made possible by the direction of local artists Sherri and Eric Majors, who will guide members of the community in a paint-by-numbers style fill-in of the initial design in a special pre-event that takes place before each movie showing, from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
