“Live like the gate was left open.”
Melissa’s passion for photography sprouted through her love of visual storytelling and photo journalism. After moving to Carson Valley, a deep love for the valley developed and her photography eye expanded. She found herself taking more scenic photos (how could you not here?) and felt it was her role to capture all the everyday beauty that surrounds her home.
Melissa’s photos stop time. Her photography allows you to live in the moments she finds. Whether snapping town activities, seasonal photos of the magnificent Sierra Nevada peaks, or sneaking her lens in on serendipitous fleeting everyday interactions; she has found there’s nothing more special than gifting someone a candid picture from a moment that will now be a treasured memory.
Mom to her two beautiful boys, who appear in many of her photos, she works as the Community Relations Manager and Public Information Officer for Douglas County. Busy, but blessed to live, work, play, and capture moments in a place which provides snapshots of people’s authenticity, natures radiant beauty, and events that create smiles, Melissa always finds time for this creative outlet in her life.
