Basque Cinema comes to Carson Valley! Join the Gardnerville Basque Club and the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center for a special screening of KARMELE, the acclaimed new film by award-winning Basque director Asier Altuna, part of the 2025 Basque Film Tour.
Set in 1937, KARMELE follows a Basque family exiled by war whose fight for survival unfolds through music, dance, and cultural resistance. Based on a true story. Selected for the 2025 San Sebastian International Film Festival. In Euskara with English subtitles. 114 minutes.
The screening will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 6:00pm at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville. Director Asier Altuna will be present for a live Q&A following the screening.
A $5 donation to the museum at the door is suggested. Open to the public.
