We love when the weather begins to warm and the things feel like they are waking up all around Carson Valley. Our events calendar is bursting at the seams with Spring events, take a peak at some of the great things in store in Carson Valley this season!

Easter Weekend

Saturday, April 16th

Easter Dinner & Event with Sierra Chef

Easter with Sierra Chef is all about good food and fun for every bunny! Order their delicious to-go Easter dinner of brown sugar glazed ham, honey glazed carrots, green beans almondine, mashed potatoes, hot cross buns and of course, carrot cake for dessert! Drooling yet? Cost is $18 per person or $90 for a meal for six. Orders must be placed by April 12th and picked up on Saturday 16th.

Bring your kids down for photos with the Easter Bunny from 11a.m. to 3p.m.! Cost is $5 per 6×8 inch printed photo. Reservations are required, so be sure to call Sierra Chef at 775.392.4417 to get yours!

Sunday, April 17th

Johnson Lane Easter Egg Hunt, 9 a.m.

The Johnson Lane Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their annual Easter Egg hunt at 9 a.m. at the Johnson Lane Park. There are three different categories for egg hunters (age range dependent) so be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to be directed to the correct field.

Lampe Park Easter Egg Hunt, 1 p.m.

The Carson Valley 20-30 Club is also hosting an Easter Egg hunt at Lampe Park in Gardnerville. The club is expecting the largest hunt in the past ten years with double the amount of eggs! Kiddos that find the golden eggs will win a prize. Age ranges will be posted at the fields and the hunt is on at 1p.m., leaving plenty of time for Easter morning brunch!

Underwater Egg Hunt at Carson Valley Swim Center, 10 a.m.

Yep, you read that right! Bring the family out to the Carson Valley Swim Center for some underwater hunting! Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for youth. Don’t forget to bring your Easter baskets and goggles, of course!

Genoa Western Heritage Days

Genoa, April 29th – May 1st

As Nevada’s oldest permanent settlement, the town of Genoa has rich western roots that deserve to be celebrated! Genoa Western Heritage Days is a featured spring event and perfect for all ages, featuring cowboy poetry, porch concerts, Civil Ware reenactments, Chautauqua performers, western vendors and more. Friday night’s concert is now sold out, but if you act fast you may be able to snag tickets to Saturday night’s performances by Mary Kay Holt, Gary Allegretto and Chris Issacs as well as the progressive dinner taking place prior.

Spring Into Wine!

Genoa Lakes Country Club – May 6th, 5:30 p.m.

Class it up with the Kiwanis Club of Carson Valley at this wine tasting event held at the Genoa Lakes Country Club. Spring into Wine will feature wine and beer tasting, live auctions, raffles, food and much more. Don’t worry you’re drinking for a good cause. T, this event is in support of the Douglas County Student Scholarship program! $65 per person, $85 for exclusive VIP pre-event tastings.

Thirsty Third Thursday Wine Walk

Downtown Gardnerville – May 19th, 4:30 p.m.

The best thing about Spring? Main Street Gardnerville’s monthly wine walks return! Sip your wine and stroll around downtown Gardnerville, mingling and experiencing the local businesses and flavor of Gardnerville. Registration fee is $20 for new participants and includes a forever glass, and $15 for returning participants (bring your glass!). The walk starts at 4:30 p.m.

Not a wine lover? There is also beer for all of the hoppy people!

Big Mamma’s Show & Shine

Lampe Park Pavilion – May 21st, 10 a.m.

We can hear the growling rev of the hot rods already! Douglas County Young at Heart Senior Citizens hosts this annual fundraiser, which features classic cars, music, food vendors, crafts (both beer and otherwise), raffles and prizes. All proceeds go to the Douglas County Senior Center.

B-29 Doc Flight Experience

Minden-Tahoe Airport – May 24th & 25th

Head down to the Minden-Tahoe airport for a very special visit with history! A rare World War 2 bomber, the B-29 Doc will not only be available for cockpit tours, but you can also take a ride yourself! Sit in the same seat as the veterans who fought for our country for the thrill of a lifetime.

Flight Experience rides will be available at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. both days and ground and cockpit tours from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

CVI Presents Riley Green

TJ’s Corral – May 27th

The perfect way to kick off start  the Memorial Day weekend is at TJ’s Corral with their Summer Concert Series kick off! With current hits on the radio like “There Was This Girl, I Wish Grandpas Never Died, and “Different Round Here”, Riley Green is sure to put on one boot stompin’ good show.
