Our visitor website, VisitCarsonValley.org, is loaded with information for visitors planning a trip to our Valley. This same information provides a valuable resource for you about our region including a calendar of events, business listings, outdoor activities, attractions, our history and much more. We invite you to explore and utilize the tools to gather information for your marketing including websites, collateral, social media and more.
Whether you are a seasoned tourism professional or just beginning your journey and learning more, keeping on top of trends is vital to the process. In addition to signing up to receive “The Band” newsletter every other month, here are a few of our favorite resources for tracking industry trends.
One of the major ways visitors are connecting with destinations in today’s digital world is through online resources, primarily through mobile devices. To reach visitors where they are means having a strong online presence. A website, a claimed Google listing, social media with Facebook or Instagram, that’s how people are booking, finding and planning. Here are some resources to help you build your online business.
Developing and having resources is an important step in being able to market your business or services. This includes a logo in all formats (jpg, png and eps), a photography library and video. Although investing in these resources can require an investment, the return makes it worth it. If you don’t have creative resources, hire a local graphic designer. If you aren’t sure how to use social media, attend a class or hire a professional or college student. Have questions, reach out to other businesses and resources locally. In a strong tourism community, there’s a desire to support others. As the saying goes, “A rising tide floats all boats."
We developed this Tourism Matters website to provide an education platform for our business community directly involved in tourism, for others that benefit from the impacts of travelers and our local residents. Importantly, we are here to help you along the way. If you are looking to create an online presence, want to become more involved in our cooperative programs, talk about an event or just looking to talk about current trends, we are on your team. We’re in this together. It takes a valley!
