Alta Alpina 8 Pass Challenge

The Alta Alpina 8 Pass Challenge is the world’s toughest single day road bicycle event, making the 8 Pass Finisher Jersey one of the ultimate trophies for endurance cyclists. This tour of the Alta Alpina Cycling Club’s 8 favorite passes involves climbing 20,300 feet over about 200 miles. As a bonus, riders enjoy the breathtaking scenic beauty of 8 ecologically diverse, wild Sierra climbs (and descents) plus panoramas of Diamond Valley and Carson Valley. There are no traffic lights and just a dozen stop signs. Not sure if you’ll be ready for the 8 Pass Challenge this year? Consider riding five, six, or seven passes this year to familiarize yourself with the terrain and scope of the ride.
