Chautauqua Performance - George Whittell and his wife Elia

Local authors and historians David & Gayle Woodruff re-enact the characters of one of the wealthiest couples on the West Coast during the 1920s through 1950s. They kept an African Lion for a pet, owned over 25 miles of Lake Tahoe waterfront, built one of the most beautiful estates on Lake Tahoe’s shore, hosted high stakes poker games with the rich and famous, and unintentionally conserved a large portion of Lake Tahoe lands for the public to enjoy today.

This performance will take place on November 15, 2026 from 1:00pm-2:15pm at Minden Mill Distilling. It’s free to attend, provided you have reserved a ticket. Tickets will become available starting October 27, 2026. Spots are very limited, so reserve your ticket early. You can find out more and get tickets to this and other events by going to Minden Mill’s official website and selecting “Book an Experience” or clicking here.
