What’s the difference between this Stoneware mug and a mug from the walk-in shelf?
Walk-in mugs are low-fire clay and use low-fire/stable glazes that stay put where you paint them. Stoneware glazes drip and flow. Low-fire clay cannot be put in the microwave where as Stoneware clay can be put in the microwave and even the oven. Most mugs at craft fairs are made of stoneware clay. Low fire clay gets fired at 1800* in the kiln and Stoneware clay gets fired at 2200* in the kiln. Cost includes studio fee.
This class will take place on March 6 from 5:30pm-7:00pm, and another class will be held on March 11 from 12:00pm-1:30pm at HelloHandmade in Gardnerville. For more info and to register, visit HelloHandmadeNV.com.
