The Carson Valley Arts Council’s Copeland Gallery is hosting an exhibit that features the work of local artist Anne Mitchell. Anne’s specialty is multi-media.

You can view the new exhibit from August 24 through October 16, 2026 at the Copeland Gallery in Minden, Monday through Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm. Anne’s work will be available for purchase.

CVAC will host a free reception on Saturday, August 29 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, where there will be an opportunity to meet the artist.

The Corley Ranch Harvest Festival is taking place every day from 10:00am to 5:00pm from September 26- October 31, 2026!

Bring the whole family for a day of fall fun—pumpkins, pig races, corn maze, straw maze, sling shot, train rides, hayrides, mini golf, farm animals, festive treats, and all the harvest magic you’ve been waiting for.

Carson Valley Community Theatre presents Morning’s At Seven, a play by Paul Osborn.

The year is 1938; the place is a small Midwestern town, where the four aging Gibbs sisters share in each other’s lives including drama, comedy, and tragedy, not to mention, sympathy, secrets, caring, anger, envy, jealousy, and love. Cora Swanson and her sister, Ida Bolton, along with husbands Thor and Carl, have lived next door to each other for their entire married lives. Arry, the old-maid sister, lives with Cora and Thor. A fourth sister, Esther and her husband, David, live down the street. All four families are awaiting eagerly the arrival of Ida and Carl’s son, Homer, and his fiancée, Myrtle Brown. Homer has been engaged to Myrtle for seven years and dated her for five years before that and, oddly enough, this will be the first time anyone in his family will have met her. It seems like a simple, happy situation, but trouble ensues as two of the sisters begin to question their lives and decide to make some changes before it’s too late. This heart-warming and hilarious comedy, televised live on several occasions, has won multiple Tony and Drama Desks awards. Morning’s at Seven is considered delightful and darling by all.

Join this watercolor workshop at the beautiful River Fork Ranch Preserve with Constance Peters. Participants will be painting two 8″ x 10″ paintings with fall leaves as the subject.

This workshop is for people with zero to intermediate experience, ages 11 to 101! Participants will work on two paintings and the focus of the workshop will be on watercolor painting techniques.

Students are asked to bring a fine-tipped black ink pen if possible, a pencil and a snack. All other art materials will be provided.

Visit Carson Valley’s Ferris 50 Endurance Run event returns for 2026, taking place on November 7. This exciting race invites runners to compete in their choice of 3 distances – 50 miles, 50k, or 15k – spanning along a mix of single-track trails, OHV trails, and minimal concrete.

Plus, new for 2026, Ferris 50 is introducing a 1.5K Kids Race for future ultra athletes in the making!

The 50 Mile, 50K, and 15K races will start in the arena at the Douglas County Fairgrounds at 920 Dump Rd in Gardnerville. The Kids Race will be an out-and-back from the Festival at the Carson Valley Health Finish Line in TJ’s Corral.

Do you have a future ultra athlete in the making? Or a kiddo that wants to wear their medal to show and tell at school? Good news! A 1.5k Kids Race has been added to the line up for 2026, part of the second annual Ferris 50 Endurance Run.

Starting at 1:00pm, the course will begin on the Martin Slough Trail behind the Carson Valley Inn and cover 1.5k on an out-and-back route with the finish line inside TJ’s Corral with the other race distances. If you’d like to run with your little one, a single pacer will be allowed. Bring the rest of the family to cheer on their runner! Finishers will receive a Kids Race medal and Ferris 50 bib.

Minimum age for the Kids Race will be 5 years and multiple age division waves will be run if enough racers register. UltraSignUp recommends that you complete the registration as a Guest rather than under an existing profile. A parent/guardian will need to acknowledge the waiver.

This community-favorite 5K brings friends, families, businesses, and neighbors together for a fun morning while helping support the Carson Valley Community Food Closet’s mission to fight food insecurity in Douglas County. This fun run takes place in the beautiful Carson Valley, starting at Minden Park in downtown Minden. Trot through this picturesque downtown neighborhood as a fun way to start the Thanksgiving holiday.

On December 18 and 19, 2026, the Knight Monsters will face the Wichita Thunder, during a weekend spent honoring survivors, remembering loved ones, and supporting those battling cancer. Presented by Barton Health. The puck drops at 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday.

Grammy Award-winning musician Laurie Lewis is internationally renowned as a singer, songwriter, fiddler, bandleader, producer and educator. Laurie has twice been named Female Vocalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Fine Folks is an indie folk rock band based in Long Beach, California. Their sound blends rich acoustic instrumentation with poetic lyrics, drawing inspiration from artists like Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling. With roots in folk music’s spirit of unity and storytelling, Fine Folks brings a sense of connection and community to every performance.

The Hot Club of San Francisco is an American gypsy jazz band, led by guitarist, songwriter, and arranger Paul ‘Pazzo’ Mehling. The band features a lineup inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli’s Quintette du Hot Club de France with violin, bass, and guitars.
